🇯🇵 Japan to continue to ship Russia LNG despite pushback.

While harsh sanctions have been imposed on Russia and its companies since February 2022 and the invasion of Ukraine, Japan has hesitated to join the fray. The Asian nation remains one of Russia’s largest buyers of liquified natural gas (LNG). Japan is an island nation with very limited natural resources, and it has to import most of its energy. LNG is a clean, efficient, and reliable source of energy that can be easily transported by ship, making it a good fit for Japan's energy needs. Japan has developed a strong infrastructure for importing, storing and distributing LNG. This infrastructure, along with a range of government policies and incentives, has helped to make LNG an important part of Japan's energy mix.
