More EV-charging stations are needed in New York

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul launched a new website to assist the push for a growing need for federal electric vehicle infrastructure funds for the state. The website asks for data from fleet operators in New York to better enhance their plan that is currently sitting on an August 1st deadline.

Currently, the state of New York is slated to receive $175 million over five years to be put towards expanding its EV charging network, through President Joe Biden’s $1.2 Trillion Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. New York is also eligible to request $2.5 billion in EV charging grants on top of the $175 million.
