Stellantis and Ample Join Forces to Bring Quick-Swappable Batteries to City Cars


Stellantis, the owner of several car brands, is teaming up with Ample, a California-based startup, to introduce city cars with quick-swappable high-voltage batteries. Initially, they plan to retrofit 100 Fiat 500e EVs in Madrid, Spain, within Stellantis' Free2move car-sharing service in 2024. The modular battery swapping technology allows for individual module swaps based on drivers' needs, offering flexibility and convenience.
