Challenges and Opportunities for Minority Business Enterprises in the Aerospace Industry


Keith Lambert, the owner of Oxidizers, an oxidation and mechanical services company, became an accredited Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) five years ago. Despite working with major aerospace and manufacturing companies, some clients seem surprised to see a Black man at the helm, highlighting the challenges diverse suppliers face in the industry. While aerospace companies have supplier diversity programs, the efforts don't always translate into increased opportunities for MBEs to bid on or obtain contracts.
