Largest dip in diesel price since 2008

The Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration released the latest weekly average retail diesel price as $5.268 a gallon, a 6.4-cent decline from the previous week. This drop is the largest since 2008.

Regardless of the decrease, the difference between the national average retail price and the national average wholesale price is still $1.758/gallon - which is well above the traditional historical norms of typically $1 to $1.10.
