U.S. Air Force transported 500k servings to baby formula
🛫 The United States Air Force brought 500k servings of baby formula from Europe to Indianapolis last weekend.
“Operation Fly Formula” was a mission authorized by President Joe Biden and his administration to relieve the current baby formula shortage. With no commercial flights available, the Air Force was able to provide the transport service of 78,000 pounds.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has accepted responsibility for the recent baby formula shortage that had parents across the U.S. entering desperation mode.
What began with the standard supply chain worn too thin by pandemic-related restrictions, was followed by a formula recall of products manufactured at Abbott Laboratories, one of the largest formula manufacturing plants in the United States.
