In the cold winter streets of Ottawa, Canada in late January 2022, a convoy of truckers that called themselves “The Freedom Convoy” rolled into town. The truckers were taking a stand against required Covid-19 vaccine passport mandates for traveling over borders, as well as a number of other regulatory issues that had plagued the industry for years. This was just the breaking point.

The results were mixed but organizers believe the blockade won lots of positive press from the United States. However, the blockades also prepared the Canadian government with the means to possibly prevent further disruptions in the future.
