Amazon scales back after massive expansion efforts

😵‍💫 Amazon admits that it may have gone too far.

The expanding network may be stretched its limits a little too thin after several years of focusing on getting same-day delivery available to now more than 17 countries. The company’s press release last week expounded upon its Q1 profit failure and the resulting incremental costs due to excess fulfillment and transportation capacity in its network. Amazon’s demand forecast was far off-base, and they are intent on not making the same mistake twice.
