Average price of a gallon of gasoline drops, again


For 48 days in a row, the average price for a gallon of gasoline has dropped - but it’s not all rainbows and butterflies. As of Monday, August 1, 2022, the national average is $4.212 a gallon, a stark difference from the record $5.016 in June. The decline has offered some relief at the pump for consumers.

California, Hawaii, Alaska, Oregon, Nevada, and Washington continue to have the highest cost per gallon of gasoline while Texas, South Carolina, Georgia, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Arkansas boast the lowest.
