Bay Area's Wet Season Begins with Sunday Rainfall, More Wet Weather Ahead


The Bay Area experienced the onset of the wet season with up to half an inch of rainfall on Sunday, followed by a dry period expected on Monday and Tuesday, with temperatures ranging from the 60s along the coast to near 80 inland. However, a cold front from the Pacific Northwest is anticipated to bring rain to Northern California and light snow in the Sierra Nevada on Wednesday, with the possibility of additional rain showers and high-elevation snow in the Bay Area on Friday. The return of the jet stream, guiding storms over the Pacific Ocean, suggests a shift towards more wet weather systems in October.
