FMSCA’s driver apprenticeship program is now live


The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) - otherwise known as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), has forced the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) to develop an apprenticeship driver pilot program. Drivers between 18-20 years old would be encouraged to join once they obtained an intrastate commercial driver’s license.

The program has controversial standards, but some argue it is critical to fighting the driver shortage.
