Inflation and hiring are head-to-head, and hiring is winning


Despite stubbornly-high inflation and slowing economic woes, the economy has added 263,000 jobs and kept the unemployment rate at a low 3.7%. This rate - a 57-year low - is baffling to some economists. The Federal Reserve has maintained aggressive interest rate hikes in an effort to stamp out inflation, and the labor market has continued to add jobs, month-after-month.
