Lightning eMotors has delivered over 600 zero-emission commercial vehicles, covering a total of 5 million miles. The company is now looking to expand into the freight truck market due to growing demand for electric vehicles (EVs) driven by government incentives and mandates. While Lightning expects solid demand in school buses and shuttles, it anticipates that trucks and the freight market will play an increasingly important role in its future growth, especially in California, where EV mandates are driving demand.
