May’s Consumer Price Index has highest peak since 1981

📈 Inflation has risen 8.6% in May of 2022, marking the largest growth in the consumer price index since 1981.

Food and energy are the main culprits, but inflation has touched almost every inch of every industry. With rising inflation, real wages declined 0.6% despite many wage increases given to employees. The fuel costs have risen 106.7% over the past year.
