Narcotics trafficking crackdown begins as shipping companies combine forces with customs agents

The World Shipping Council (WSC) and the Container Control Program (CCP) worked together with the UN Office on Drugs and Crime and the World Customs Organization earlier this month to step up the war against narcotics trafficking.

With 275 million people worldwide using drugs in the year 2021 and over 36 million people suffering from drug use disorders, the urgency to quell the surge in drugs traveling across borders has only grown.
