The retailer filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy after a series of competitive challenges struck the business, including social gatherings being shunned over the pandemic era and inflation costing the company. The company has faced increased competition from online retailers, which made it difficult for them to maintain its market share. Party City had also faced rising costs associated with e-commerce and supply chain logistics.
