Port of Seattle union workers in dispute with terminal


Two unions that represent the workers who operate and maintain the terminal at the Port of Seattle are currently disputing with their employers. With labor disputes come the threat of further supply chain disruption at the port is a huge reminder of how fragile the system is in the world of sky-high inflation.

Negotiations remain underway, but stalemates such as these will likely further the push for automation at the ports. Currently, almost thirty ports are dealing with contractual issues with union members - making many very nervous.
