UAW President Shawn Fain Addresses Ongoing Strike Strategy Amidst Expansion and Negotiations


United Auto Workers President Shawn Fain announced that the union will not initiate additional walkouts against Ford, General Motors, and Stellantis in their ongoing strike but emphasized their ability to mobilize workers as needed. Fain urged UAW members not participating in the strike to join those on picket lines. The strike, now in its 29th day, has seen a strategic shift and expanded to include Ford's Kentucky Truck Plant, affecting approximately 34,000 autoworkers in total. Contract negotiations with all three automakers are ongoing.
