🇲🇽 The U.S. and Mexico’s trade chiefs are ready to talk about energy policies.

After the US-Mexico-Canada Agreement on trade was implanted in 2020, (replacing the previous Nafta pact that was in place for twenty years) the United States and Canada filed complaints against Mexico’s electricity policy. Mexico’s policy shows privilege to the state-owned oil producer, Petroleos Mexicanos, and CFE. The current arbitrary talks between the countries will be conducted by Trade Representative Katherine Tai from the U.S. and Raquel Buenrostro of Mexico. Buenrostro was recommended by Mexico’s President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador for the job.
