Americans' confidence in the US economy has declined, with the preliminary reading on consumer sentiment for November hitting its lowest level since May at 60.4, below economists' expectations of 63.7. Concerns about high-interest rates, ongoing conflicts in Gaza and Ukraine, and rising inflation expectations have contributed to the decline in consumer sentiment. Consumers now expect inflation to reach 3.2% over the next five years, the highest level seen since 2011, while gas price expectations have also risen.
