CVSA’s road check decommissions over 12,000 commercial motor vehicles


From May 17th through May 19th of this year, the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance’s (CVSA) International Roadcheck commercial motor vehicle inspection and enforcement initiative was underway. In three short days, inspectors across the nation decommissioned 12,456 commercial motor vehicles. Furthermore, an additional 3,714 commercial motor vehicle drivers were also placed out of service due to violations.

CVSA’s North American Standard Out-of-Service Criteria has clearly laid out what can be expected in these compliance blitzes. Roadside inspections are specifically looking for out-of-service violations regarding these vehicles.
