The Rocky Mountains and West Coast regions have seen rising prices, with averages of $4.146 and $4.489 per gallon, respectively. Meanwhile, oil companies worldwide have reported substantial profits due to Russia's energy supply restrictions following its invasion of Ukraine. BP has reported earnings of $5 billion in the first quarter of 2023, and its CEO, Bernard Looney, said the company had "strategic delivery" during the period.
