Diesel Technology Forum Champions Near-Zero-Emission Trucks as Key to a Cleaner Trucking Future Amid ZEV Push

The Diesel Technology Forum (DTF), a trade group representing suppliers in the diesel engine supply chain, is positioning diesel engines as a leading force in achieving a cleaner future for the trucking industry. Despite California's push for zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs), the DTF highlights the increasing number of near-zero-emission vehicles (NZEVs) in the trucking sector. The DTF's study shows that the majority of Class 8 trucks are NZEVs, while only a small percentage are electric or running on alternative fuels. The DTF emphasizes the need for infrastructure development to support different fuel options and questions the feasibility and cost of transitioning to full ZEV compliance.
