Musk's Starlink looks to U.S. Government for financial assistance to keep Ukraine internet online


Earlier this year when Russia invaded Ukraine, Elon Musk & Space X stepped up to the plate. Very generously, Space X donated Starlink internet terminals to keep the internet operational for Ukraine’s military in the region and has been funding the operation to the tune of $80 million so far. Estimates show that number will exceed $100 million by the end of 2022, and Musk is now looking to the U.S. government to help.

While there has been some criticism directed at Musk because of this move, Musk claims that Space X is not asking to “recoup past expenses”, but is warning that the company cannot fund the project indefinitely.
