According to The Conference Board Consumer Confidence Index, the drop accounted for two points - standing at 107.1, as opposed to 109.0 in December. The Conference Board Consumer Confidence Index is a widely recognized measure of consumer sentiment and confidence in the economy. The index is based on a monthly survey of U.S. consumers, who are asked about their current and future expectations for the economy, employment, and personal finances.
