Northern U.S. Braces for First Major Snowstorm of the Season Followed by Arctic Chill


The first significant snowstorm of the season is set to hit parts of the northern U.S., including the Pacific Northwest, northern Rockies, and northern Plains. Winter storm warnings and watches have been issued, with forecasts of up to 2 feet of snow in some areas. Travel disruptions are expected, and after the storm, a bitterly cold Arctic air mass will bring temperatures 15-35 degrees below the historical average to Montana and Wyoming by Thursday night, with sub-zero readings in the northern Rockies and single-digit and teen temperatures in the Northwest and northern Plains.
