🇺🇸 International workers are returning to in-office work in droves, so why are Americans so resistant?

Office attendance is now somewhere between 70-90% in Europe and the Middle East and closer to 100% in Asia. The top U.S. metropolitan areas have only seen a return of about 50%, and there may be some direct reasons for the difference. Americans generally have more space at home to work and are able to segment their work life space from where they relax. Additionally, there is a serious lack of public transit available for American workers and many have resisted returning to work due to hour long+ commutes in vehicles that are more expensive than ever to operate. Coinciding with a tight labor market, workers have the advantage over their employers - likely advocating for work-from-home and hybrid work after now years of transitioning.
